Art exhibition - The Decline of Eels by Julia Manning, Gloucester

Julia Manning is a member of The Society of Wildlife Artists and of The Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. In partnership with the Somerset Wildlife Trust and international eel expert Andy Don, she has developed a stunning and emotive collection of prints based on life cycle of the European Eel and the threats they face at every stage of their global migration. Using field observations and the latest scientific information, she depicts the dramatic saga unfolding in our nearby streams and rivers.
Come and and learn about this fascinating but threatened species through an artist's eyes. Get an insight into the materials and techniques used to create these stunning pieces, and get children interested through interactive elements.
The exhibition is in the Severn Room on the first floor. The room is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, but the exhibition can also be viewed on the TV screen downstairs.
Entry is free with donations welcomed to support the upkeep of our historic building. Greetings cards and prints from the exhibition will be available to buy in the Folk of Gloucester shop.
