The Cotswolds
Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the Cotswolds
Lydney is a town in Gloucestershire. It is on the west bank of the River Severn in the Forest of Dean District, and is 16 miles southwest of Gloucester.
As the crow flies, Lydney is 6 or 7 miles west of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Beauty, across the River Severn. But driving to the Cotswolds from Lydney means quite a detour due to the aforementioned River Severn, resulting in a journey of 25 or 30 miles to reach the likes of Painswick or Wotton-under-Edge.
The Gloucestershire town of Lydney is not in the Cotswolds.
