The King's Head Inn, Bledington, is a charming 16th century inn situated on the picturesque village green of Bledington.
Lunch and dinner can be taken in either the bar or the restaurant, and if you're looking to stay in the Bledington area, The King's Head has both rooms above the Inn and courtyard bedrooms to choose from.

The River Eye runs through Lower Slaughter.
The River Eye rises in the northern end of the parish of Upper Slaughter from where it flows down to Lower Slaughter, under the Roman Fosse Way at Slaughter Bridge, and after running parallel to the River Dikler for a kilometre, it finally empties into the Dikler a kilometre to the east of Bourton-on-the-Water. Two kilometers later the Dikler flows into the River Windrush.

The River Eye runs through Upper Slaughter and the ford at Upper Slaughter makes for a very Instagrammable scene! Don't worry, there's a lovely little stone footbridge, so you can cross the ford without getting your shoes wet.
The River Eye is a tributary of the River Windrush and it runs down to neighbouring village of Lower Slaughter and then eventually Bourton-on-the-Water.

The nearest town to Lower Slaughter is Moreton-in-Marsh. Bourton-on-the-Water is closer, but Bourton is a village, not a town.

Lower Slaughter is conveniently located within a short driving distance from other popular Cotswold towns such as Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, making it an ideal base for exploring the region.
Lower Slaughter's "sister" village, Upper Slaughter, is also nearby.

Rosemary Verey OBE (1918-2001) was an English garden designer, lecturer and garden writer who designed the notable garden at Barnsley House in the Cotswold village of Barnsley, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire.
In 1939 Rosemary married David Verey, whose family owned the Grade II* listed Barnsley House. In 1970 Verey opened the gardens at Barnsley House to the public (under the NGS - National Gardens Scheme) for one day, and its popularity was such that it would end up opening 6 days a week.
In 1996 Verey was awarded the OBE. And the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) awarded her their top accolade, the Victoria Medal of Honour.

Barnsley House was a luxury country house hotel and spa in the Cotswolds, between Cirencester and Bibury, in the village of Barnsley.
THE PIG Group acquired Barnsley House and village pub in 2024 and Barnsley House was renamed 'The Pig'

Bradford-on-Avon is a town and civil parish in west Wiltshire, near the border with Somerset and right on the edge of the Cotswolds, but not actually within the Cotswolds AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
So Bradford-on-Avon is not in the Cotswolds, but it's only a stone's throw away!

No, Nailsworth does not have a railway station.
Nailsworth Railway Station opened on the 4th February 1867 and closed on 16th June 1947.

The clock tower in Nailsworth

Nailsworth's clock tower was erected in 1951/2 as a memorial to the men of the civil parish of Nailsworth who fell in both the First and Second World Wars.
A plaque on the door at the bottom of the clock tower reads:
"The clock tower erected 1951 stands as a memorial to all those of the civil parish of Nailsworth who fell in the great wars 1914-1918 and 1939-1945"
Aldsworth is a Gloucestershire village located just off the B4425 from Cirencester to Burford just a few miles from Bibury.
